About DankLaps

Your guide to the most exciting F1 races of all time

Our Mission

I've seen a lot of Reddit threads out there asking the same thing - I'm new to F1, or, I just got F1TV, what are the best races to watch? DankLaps is here to help. You can manage your own personal watchlist, vote for the best ones, and keep a list of your favorites. I made it to scratch my own itch, and I hope you find it useful as well.

How to Watch

The F1TV archive is the best legal way to access historic races.

F1TV Pro subscribers can access the complete race archive featuring full race replays, highlights, and onboard cameras.

How to access the F1TV race archive:

  1. Subscribe to F1TV Pro at f1tv.formula1.com
  2. Log in to your F1TV account
  3. Navigate to the "Archive" section
  4. Browse by season or search for a specific Grand Prix

Note: F1TV availability and content may vary by region. F1TV is available in the US via Apple TV. DankLaps is independent of Formula 1 or F1TV.

Data Source

DankLaps is powered by the F1DB project, an open-source database of Formula 1 statistics and information. We're grateful to the F1DB contributors for making this comprehensive dataset available to the community.

F1DB provides accurate race information, allowing me to focus on building a hopefully great user experience around discovering and keeping track of the best races to watch.

F1DB is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. This license requires that we provide appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made (there are no changes to the base data). DankLaps uses F1DB data in accordance with this license and acknowledges the F1DB project as the source of our race data, but no endorsement or support by the F1DB project is implied.

Images are thanks to DALL·E, if that wasn't obvious.

Support DankLaps

DankLaps is a passion project created by an F1 fan, fueled by F1 Reddit in general and inspired by r/formuladank in particular. As we grow (or if we grow, who knows) I'd really like to figure out ways to support the site without ads or 50 bazillion 'partners.'

In the meantime, if you enjoy using DankLaps and want to support its development, consider:

  • Sharing DankLaps with other F1 fans
  • Voting on races to help refine the rankings
  • Making a donation via Ko-fi
  • Sponsoring us - we're open to partnerships that add value for the community

So get in there! Its hammertime! Must be the water! Go Weeyums! Etc!! You won't find me on Discord but you can email heythere AT danklaps DOT com or visit r/danklaps on Reddit. Thanks for stopping by!
